We are a motley crew, more in the Shakespearean than in the vile but catchy 80s band sense of the phrase. In fact, I would say that we are more mottled than motley, speckled with various colorful combinations of psychological disorders (we like to call them eccentricities), educational motifs, and religious convictions (weird word... persuasions? no, affiliations.... terrible... any suggestions?). We love Patty Griffin, Bob Dylan, and one another, though not in that order. We like our eggs scrambled, our house ill-arranged, and our time together. And oh, how we laugh. How do you like your eggs?
Oh....my....goodness! What a beautiful, beautiful presentation! Tears began rolling immediately and simply will not stop. I love the way you blended the lyrics and the pictures, Amy. There are a number of places in the second song (probably the first, too, just less familiar with the lyrics, so I can't remember as easily.)
But the "I may not be every mother's dream for her little girl" section ripped my heart out. Each of the "eyes full of compassion...seeing every pain...knowing what you're going through...and feeling it the same" really tore me up, too. I know those qualities about each of your babies and especially your husband, Josh!
He really is such an amazing Daddy. These pictures barely touch on all that he is and does for his children, but they do give the essence of his deep involvement in their lives and the love that he has for them...and them for him.
I love it! You have your Father's eyes, as well as your Daddy's eyes, too, Amy. You are amazing!
But...since this is for Josh on Father's Day...HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, Josh! I'm so thankful for you. I love you for so many reasons, but especially for the way you love the Lord, your wife, and your children. Have a wonderful, wonderful Father's Day!
